The Renewal Team works with franchisees whose franchise agreements are approaching expiration. When an owner reaches the end of their 20-year franchise term and wishes to continue operating under the Choice brand, the Renewal Team facilitates the execution of a new franchise agreement. They help owners understand renewal requirements, review any applicable property improvement obligations, and ensure a seamless transition into a new contract term. The renewal process may begin up to two years before the franchise agreement’s expiration date, allowing owners ample time to prepare and complete all requirements.
Retention
Retention Team
The Retention Team supports franchisees throughout the entire lifecycle of their franchise agreement. They serve as a key resource for contract-related questions and ongoing account management. Whether an owner has questions about Property Improvement Plans (PIPs), contractual obligations, exit provisions, amendment requests, or other franchise-related matters, the Retention Team is available to provide guidance and support. Their goal is to help owners successfully navigate their franchise lifecycle with Choice and remain informed about their rights, responsibilities, and opportunities throughout the term of their agreement.
Relicensing
Relicensing Team
The Relicensing Team manages ownership transitions for existing Choice-branded hotels. When a current Choice hotel owner decides to sell their property and the hotel will remain within the Choice system, the transaction is considered a relicensing. This team guides both the seller and the buyer through the approval and transfer process, ensuring all franchise requirements are met and that the ownership transition is completed smoothly. They serve as the primary point of contact throughout the franchise transfer process.
